After
the
armistice,
at
the
end
of
Middle
East
Operations,
the
Italian
contingent,
which
had
fought
at
the
side
of
French
and
British
against
the
Turks
from
1917
to
1918,
was
largely
withdrawn. The
force
was
composed
of
a
“Bersaglieri”
(sharpshooter)
and
a
“Carabinieri” (military police) squad. |
