1. The organisation of the camp

 

Initially the “SS” were charged with the protection of the Nazi party and, after the “Night of Long Knives” (June 30, 1934), it took the command of the concentration camps.

The major authority within the camps was the “Lagerkommandant”.

The ‘Blockführer’ was part of the “SS” and had the responsibility of a Block.
