This contingent is not part of the UN forces but comes from an agreement reached between Israel and the PLO on March 31, 1994.

TIPH I took place in 1994 and did not employ Italian forces. The second mission is made up of 119 people (60 observers and 59 support members); 35 of them are Italians (since 1997), 28 are Danish and 56 are Norwegians.

The mission, which was anticipated by a test period in Jerusalem, is still continuing.
