2. The ‘Kommando’ By the word ‘kommando’ we include all those camps, for men and women, annexed from a central camp to which they were attached. In Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau) the struggle for survival became harder as the camp took control of the agricultural out-buildings and the experimental centres.
